you have to leave a message it may take a few hours before they get
back to you, but they will return your call. They do honest, good
work at reasonable prices. We bought a Maytag refrigerator several
years ago (big mistake) -- they serviced it several times while it
was under original & extended warranty. It is now out of warranty
but I still call them as I did yesterday morning & they fixed it
this morning as it was not an emergency repair.

my house & install a generator for those times when our neighborhood
loses electricity – they are a Kohler generator dealer. I have

inquiry: Thank you for asking about seamless gutters because I’ve
just had them installed on my house, replacing some old non-seamless
ones. I used A-1 Aluminum Inc., based here in Irving since 1969.
They also have a website at
www.A-1AluminumTX.com. Here is a run-down of my experience:
- I called & their sales rep Jean Felker came by to give me a written quote -- removing my old gutters & then installing 69-feet of 5" gutters with leaf screens plus four 3"x4" downspouts (& some other parts) was $696. I did not have to pay anything up front but I did sign a contract.
- Two days later a two-man crew came by to remove the old gutters. They were quick & polite but they did leave some metal in the grass that could have become dangerous if the lawnmower had caught it -- so watch out for that.
- I already knew I had a wood rot problem behind the old gutters so we paused while I had the facial boards replaced/repaired (A-1 recommended someone because I didn't know anyone to do this).
- As soon as I told A-1 the facial boards were ready a different crew (I think they have three crews) came by & installed the new gutters. I asked a lot of questions while they were installing & the crew gave me direct responses. I feel like they did a good job (the gutters look great) but we haven't had rain since then so only time will really tell.
- The following day Kelli in the office called to ask how did I want to make payment. I hope this information is helpful.

for a better price than what we paid Lowe's. Michael Chapman has
replaced doors & windows for us & I think highly of him -- he is
always on time, extremely polite, & very meticulous; he gets FOUR
STARS.
Glen's note: I also have Pella windows & have found it
worthwhile to visit the Pella showroom at 801 Hanover Drive, #600,
Grapevine, Texas, phone 682.223.5656 to look at & discuss window &
door options directly with Pella employees. Once you've made a
selection you can decide separately who you want to do the
installation -- the Pella installers are excellent but they are also
not allowed to handle anything other that what they're installing
(e.g. I had to repaint my window sills to match the new windows
because the sills were not part of the installation & so the Pella
installers could not paint them even though they were painting the
newly-installed trim around the windows).

A friendly reminder when putting on a new roof: When your old roof comes off that is the perfect time to a) blow new insulation into your attic, b) move any wires on the outside of your house into the attic, c) do any ventilation/electrical/cable work in the attic that needs to be done – if you can work out the logistics with your roofer.

contacted some neighbors to verify the correct one; one response I
received, dated 3.11 was as follows: "The gentleman representing
Premier Roofing and Remodeling who called on me was working out of a
residence in Flower Mound, TX [4181 Long Prairie Road]. That house
is now vacant and for sale. The company was started in Houston, TX,
and is still operational there (as far as I know). Their address is

Remodeling replace at least a dozen roofs in the IHDNA neighborhood
& I never heard a negative comment about them. In August 2010 I sent
an e-mail containing the following to a neighbor who asked about
roofers:
- In early June 2010 Lewis Martin sent out this e-mail through Joe: Premier is out of Houston & has an excellent standing with their BBB. They have not been in our area long enough to be listed with the Dallas BBB. Their VP lives in Flower Mound. If he thinks your roof has been damaged he will meet with your insurance adjuster to prove it. If the adjuster turns you down he will take it to arbitration & he says he has never lost at that point. He promises to do the job for what your insurance pays plus you paying your deductible. I have a new roof & have paid him nothing yet. He has a large crew that has been together for several years. They do not come into your house & they are very friendly & respectful. They started my house on a Thursday at mid-morning & finished the next day in the early afternoon. They did an excellent job of clean-up – even raking up leaves I had not taken care of. I am satisfied with my new roof.
- On the same day the following e-mail was sent from Ann Mixon: You may want to look at the roofs that have already been put on - they look great. There are already three on Glenbrook. I was very skeptical too & would not talk to these folks until I realized that several of our neighbors had received approval from their insurance companies. As my claim for a roof had been denied three years ago & my roof was extremely worn, I was very hesitant to file another claim. However I decided I had nothing to lose by trying again & I contacted Premier. The gentleman from Premier met with the adjuster from my insurer & my claim was immediately approved. A neighbor on Glenbrook, whose roof was installed two weeks ago had also been denied when I had been. I believe that Premier Roofing does very good work & they certainly have proven they are very capable of dealing with insurance companies. Best wishes.
- I [Glen] personally spoke to Ann Bell & she said 1) she & her husband were very happy with the job that Premier Roofing did, 2) they paid nothing out of pocket, just the insurance amount, & 3) her father on Lane Street is having the same Premier Roofing crew put a new roof on his house & he is also paying nothing but the insurance coverage amount.

to correct it (it changed after I removed some trees) & twice he got
my backyard to drain properly at a cost I thought was reasonable.
